What each plan costs per month
Longer plans spread the cost out. Here is the monthly equivalent for each VIP option:
- 1 month: C$39.95 a month.
- 3 months: works out to C$32.98 a month.
- 6 months: works out to C$31.98 a month.
- 12 months: works out to C$20.83 a month.
For VIP Plus, the monthly equivalents are C$59.96 for one month, C$51.39 on the 3-month plan, C$38.53 on the 6-month plan and C$28.20 on the 12-month plan.
Which plans renew
This part matters, so here it is plainly:
- Weekly, monthly, three-month and six-month plans renew at the same price at the end of each period unless you cancel.
- Annual plans do not renew. When the year is up, the plan simply ends. To keep going, you pick a new one.
If you prefer not to think about renewals at all, the 12-month plan is the simplest choice.
VIP or VIP Plus?
Both are paid tiers that unlock more of the site than a basic profile. VIP Plus is the higher tier. Exactly what each tier includes is shown on the checkout page for your account, so read it before you pay. We would rather you choose with the details in front of you than rely on a summary here.
How to pick a length
Think about your season, not just your budget.
One week suits a trial. You want to see how the site feels and whether people near you are a fit.
One month suits someone actively dating who wants room to have a few conversations and a couple of first dates.
Three or six months cover most of a hockey season. If you are the kind of person who gets serious about dating when the nights get long, this fits well.
Twelve months suits people who want the lowest monthly cost and no renewal, and who know they will use the site across a whole year, playoffs and summer included.
Before you pay
Your profile can be finished, photos and all, before any plan is chosen. We suggest you do exactly that. Write your description, add photos, set your search area, and see who is around. Then decide whether a paid tier is worth it for you.
Cancelling
You can cancel a renewing plan before its next renewal date so it does not charge again. Your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. If you are on a 12-month plan, there is nothing to cancel, since it ends on its own.
About currency
Our prices are listed in Canadian dollars because the site is built for Canadians. The checkout adapts to where you are visiting from, so someone travelling or living outside Canada may see a different currency there. You do not need to change any setting.
What you will never pay for
We do not charge for tickets, game packages or introductions arranged by staff, and nobody from Hockey Dating Canada will ask you to send money by message. If anyone does, that is a scam. Report it and read the trust and safety guide for other warning signs.
Thinking about value
It can help to set a plan against your own hockey budget: the league fees, the jerseys, the nights out to watch a game. Seen that way, the numbers are easier to judge for yourself. Still, the real value is whether the site helps you meet someone you like, and that depends far more on how you use it than on which length you choose. A complete profile and a few thoughtful messages each week do more than any upgrade.
Payment and receipts
Checkout is handled securely on the payment page, where you will see the exact amount, currency and renewal terms before you confirm. Keep the confirmation email for your records. If something looks wrong with a charge, contact support from your account before taking any other step.
Plans and the hockey calendar
Timing a plan with the season can make sense. Starting in October gives a six-month plan room to cover the regular season and early playoffs. Starting in spring, a one-month or three-month plan lets you see how things go before summer. Starting in summer, with open evenings and patio weather, can be the easiest time of all to meet new people. None of these is required; they are simply ways fans tend to think about it.
Upgrading and switching
If you start on VIP and later want VIP Plus, or the other way round, the plans for your account are listed after you sign in. Before switching, check when your current plan ends and whether it renews, so you are not paying for two at once.
Gift cards, promo codes and other offers
We do not sell plans through third parties, and we do not ask anyone to pay with gift cards. If you see an offer for discounted memberships on social media or in a message, treat it with suspicion. The prices on this page and on the checkout after you sign in are the real ones, and they are the same whichever city or province you live in.
Comparing costs with other options
Some services market themselves as no-cost and make money in other ways, such as advertising or add-ons. General apps usually have their own paid tiers too. For a fuller look at the alternatives, see how other hockey dating options compare.
Getting value from a plan
A plan pays off when you use it well. A few habits help:
- Finish your profile before upgrading, so the people you message see a complete picture.
- Message people whose profiles you have read. Specific openers get better replies.
- Plan a first meeting once a chat is going well, rather than letting it drift for weeks.
- Keep your profile current through the season. A line about the playoffs in April and the cottage in July keeps it fresh.
